In the
beginning….
Adam Hardy, a deputy head teacher of a Catholic
Primary School in Birmingham spent a year developing a school prayer book to mark the Great
Jubilee of 2000.
The work involved
developing design criteria for printers, collating and compiling the
prayers, selecting the illustrations and finally formatting the book. The process resulted in a 100 page pocket size school prayer
book, produced using top quality materials in school colours and
personalised with the school crest.
The prayer book proved
to be extremely popular with pupils and parents alike and quickly became
part of everyday school life, used in Masses, assemblies and sacramental
preparation. Many parents and parishioners purchased copies in order to
support the development of the prayer life of their children at home as
well as in school. |
